Oratella reads your EPUB, PDF, Word, Markdown and text files aloud on your phone. It reads web articles too.

What it reads

Oratella opens EPUB, PDF, Word (.docx), Markdown and text files. Add them from Files, or send them to Oratella from another app. For a web article, share the page to Oratella or paste its link. Oratella keeps the text of the article, so it plays offline later.

Oratella reads the text a person is meant to read. It skips page numbers, running headers, footnote marks and similar clutter.

How it reads

The voices of your phone are free to use. Natural voices sound like a person reading. They run on your phone, so they also work offline. Natural voices are part of Premium.

Read along

With Premium, the player can show the chapter as it is read. The spoken word is highlighted, and the view follows it. Tap any word to listen from there.

Your place and your bookmarks

Oratella remembers the word where you stopped in every book. Bookmarks take you back to a passage. A sleep timer stops reading at a time you choose. The lock screen shows the book and its controls.

On all your devices

Sync keeps your library, your places, your bookmarks and your settings the same on every device. It uses a cloud you already have: iCloud Drive, Google Drive or Dropbox. You can protect the synced copy with a password.

Your books stay yours

Your books stay on your phone. Sync copies them only to your own cloud. Natural voices run on the phone, so no text is sent away to be read. Read the privacy policy for the details.

Lite and Premium

Lite is free. It needs no account and shows no ads. Premium adds the natural voices and read along.
